This course is designed for the career oriented individual with a focus on advanced training and a seamless course outline. You will start from zero flight time to becoming a fully Licensed Commercial Pilot with a Night Rating, VFR OTT, and a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MIFR). You will be trained in our C152 for basic maneuvers and moving up to the C172 and optionally the C172RG for advanced training, which leads you to the Multi-Engine training in the C310. This course is designed to parallel the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Pilot Diploma Program which, after approximately one year and a half, has you well prepared to startworking for one of the many operators we have close contact with. In fact, the majority of our grads are hired prior to graduation!
A minimum of 200 hours are required to obtain a CPL. The Professional Pilot Course includes the Multi-Engine IFR as part of the 200 hours after the CPL flight training is complete. The CPL and IR required ground school is included in the Sask Polytech Pilot Diploma Program. You may also optionally do it via offered online courses or self-study.
This course meets all of the flying experience requirements of the Sask Polytech Pilot Diploma Program. The timeline for the Diploma Program is available here. This course is available to anyone who wishes to become a CPL with more advanced skills. Completing the course as described below will set you up to be highly competitive in the piloting workforce. Outside of Sask Polytech, a timeline of 6-8 months of full-time study will be required.

Advanced training in our 172RG (aircraft with retractable landing gear and constant speed propellor) can also be used in flight training hours at a base rate of $205/hr. It is highly recommended to gain at least 5 hours with a constant speed propeller during your 60 hours of solo time building before moving on to the Multi-Engine Rating. This will save you money versus spending extra practice time in the C310 with the higher rental rates.

Multi-Engine Rating (ME)
To take advantage of training in our C310, we train to the multi pre-flight stage and then pause; continuing to some of the multi-IFR flight training to gain additional experience in handling the C310 before returning to the multi pre-flight/flight test. This helps you utilize all of your multi-engine flying to be best prepared for the multi flight test, and minimizes extra rental costs as all flight hours would be loggable training time towards the minimums.
The INRAT exam (required for the next stage multi-IFR rating) must be completed before commencing the multi rating.

Cost Savings: Our C172S is equipped with Garmin 430 GPS; equivalent to our C310. Training in the C172S enables equal training at a slower pace and a lower cost, and is included for 6 hours in the IFR rating (this can be substituted for the C310 if preferred). The required IFR cross-country can also be completed on the C172S to lower costs as well if desired.
See more information on the Multi-Engine Instrument Rating here.
Total Cost for Entire Course $44,359.00 (or $45,409.00 if C172 used for PPL)
If chosen, additional costs of approximately $5,500.00 for the Sask Polytech Pilot Diploma Program for the Commercial Pilot ground school requirements which includes tuition, books and uniform - tuition varies for international students.
