Step By Step Process

For any course less than six months a Study Permit is not required which means any rating can be added to your license as a tourist. Training longer that six months does require a Study Permit. Our recommended procedure is detailed below. The Permit application can take up to three months so it's best to start the application as soon as possible and be very thorough to prevent any delays.

1 Contact MFC to let us know of your intentions. We will send you some information on the steps you need to start carrying out to get going, and gather needed information from yourself. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

2 a) Book a medical with a Transport Canada approved physician in your country.
b) Begin to fill out the Study Permit application with Immigration Canada (CIC). You must prove that you have enough money to pay for your:
  • tuition fees
  • living expenses for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada
  • return transportation for yourself and any family members who came with you to Canada

Once you have completed your medical, send us a copy along with the other information we asked from you initially.

We will then be able to supply the acceptance letter required to obtain a Study Permit, which requires a $1,000.00 deposit (payment can be taken by credit card over the phone) which is placed in trust on your account -- to be used towards your flight training expenses only. If your student permit application is rejected, we will refund $750.00 and the remaining $250.00 will be retained by us as the administrative processing fee.

After your Student Permit approved, your training schedule and flight schedule will be confirmed. We ask that you stay in contact with us while your Student Permit is being processed, so we know if it is successful! If so, send us the confirmation and we can give you a welcome package that includes everything you need to know about our school and living and training in Saskatoon, SK Canada.

*It is important to note that Transport Canada requires a mandatory Aviation-Language (English) Proficiency Test, so it is recommended that a special effort must be made into making sure that this requirement can be fulfilled before making the time and monetary commitment.
